When the Stars Go Blue is a popular alternative country single initially composed and performed by solo artist and former Whiskeytown band member (1994–1999), Ryan Adams. It was first released with his album Gold on 7 September 2001, the week prior to the September 11, 2001 attacks. The song was subsequently covered by The Corrs in their album VH1 Presents: The Corrs, Live In Dublin in 2002, featuring U2's Bono. It was covered again on 6 May 2004 by pop-rocker Cary Pierce at Schubas Tavern in Chicago, Illinois for his EP Cary Pierce Live at Schubas, and yet again in 2005 by relatively unknown artists Tyler Hiltonand Bethany Joy Lenz and as recently as 2006 was released by Tim McGraw under the album Tim McGraw Reflected: Hits Vol. 2, with added country-style and more instrumental aid.

Yes, I am well aware of that fact. There is a show on VH-1 classic called I Love The 70's, also one of the 80's, 90's & 00's. Then they'll take one year from that classification, & explore that year.' Very interesting show. I came across that fact on there...
