Transfer the songs from your iTunes to your iPod, I like the shuffle.I have a nano, but i like the shuffle better its easy to carry around and why would someone want to listen to 1,000 songs, I like excersising with the shuffle its basically easy to carry around and its smaller than the nano.
But I mean finding a song in the shuffle is hard, and its easier to find it in the nano.

Shuffle is dumb because you can't choose to listen to one band or play list you want, it just plays through your whole library. (I listen to everything, country, rap, rock, everything, and I'm always in a certain mood so shuffle is out)
Nano is too small for me, I would break that, and it also worries me that they were recalled within a week for the screens.
As for the library transfer, if you go into the settings there is a check box to "Update songs automatically" and "update songs manually" you will want to check manually, however every time you load a cd, you will have to put it on there yourself, buy selecting all the songs, and dragging them onto the iPod icon on the left hand side.
Hope it helps.

U don't have tp put all the music on it. U can put select playlist only with the song u want. U can also uncheck song and they won't go on but they'll still be in itunes. I have a video and i like it but it really depends on how much music u want to have, but I you get a nano or video I suggest a case for they scrath easy.

I never really picked an iPod. My shuffle and nano were unexpected gifts.
To transfer music, you plug in your iPod and open up iTunes if it doesn't open up by itself and you drag your music into iTunes then you update it.

i have a shuffle so i guess shuffle. i perferre a different on like the video which holds more songs than the shuffle.
to upload songs from itunes is to plug in your ipod. go to itunes. once you see a symbol of an ipod on the left side then you can start putting songs onto it. you pick a song you like click on it to where it is highlighted right click on it press copy then click on the ipod symbol(it is not on the bottom is closer to the library symbol) and go to edit and put paste. your ipod will then update with the songs you put

I think you have to use iTunes to transfer to your iPod.
I chose a video because might as well, a nano is like expensive also. Pay a few more for a hard drive and for video capabilities.

As long as your iTunes has all you're music in the library file then it will automatically update and make sure all you're music is on there as soon as you plug in your iPod.
As to type I have a mini and it's great more than adequate but I would recommend the nano too

I have a a 30G iPod with video -- love it. All of your music does transfer from iTunes, but you can make playlists so you can pick and choose what you want to listen to at any time.
