Current best theory is the M Theory - a revised version of Superstring Theory.

A Theory is not and never can be a belief until it is proved conclusively to be correct.

A current theory is that our known universe has over 90% 'dark matter' of which we know nothing.

I f collapsing stars create the conditions for a supernova why does a black hole behave in a different fashion?

There are too many conflicting theories because we have yet to move out of the constraints of earthbound physical laws.

Quite frankly we have so little real understanding because man's brain is so puny when attempting to unravel the universe and its origins.

When, or if, we develop robots with artificial intelligence; devoid of human emotions the pure logic may reach a final definitive conclusion,

No beliefs: but lots of theories.
M-Theory is the best contender so far which supports - but does not prove - various objects from strings, zero point strings to 2 and multi-dimensional branes.
One possibility is that we exist in a 3 brane universe which - over trillions of years - occasionaly colides with another 3 brane causing what we call the big bang.

Another fascinating theory shows all activity taking place on the 'surfaces' of branes which implies our universe is a hologram projected into a lesser dimensioned space.

There is no theory but the truth will come out shortly, the membrane, brane and superstring theory and string theory are the current THEORIES but not known as the TRUTH!
