No, they don't have to provide anyone to book your travel. Some companies do, some don't--- mine doesn't, and I travel about 2 weeks each month. But I like being able to select my own flights and times, and not relying on someone else to decide when I want to travel.

As for expenses... the company should cover flight, meals, hotels, transportation (taxis or rental cars) Within Reason. That means they have the right to say what a reasonable person will spend each day, on three meals and a hotel, in a certain city. You shouldn't expect to be reimbursed for three meals of lobster and steak daily.

Consider yourself lucky--- so you have to spend 10 or 15 minutes booking travel for each trip. You get to keep your frequent flier miles and hotel points, and use them as you wish. That's a great benefit for very little extra work!

With a large enough corporation, it's standard practice to do this (within certain limits depending on cost of living for your destination). I still have to arrange my own travel and submit my own expense report, which is irksome (unless I want to take my spouse on vacation with me or somesuch) -- but I'm at work when I'm doing it, so the company's paying for the arrangements to be made regardless.

Reimbursing you for travel expenses should definitely be expected if all of them are business related. As far as booking it yourself, that depends on the company...size, amount of travel, etc. It's not uncommon to have individual business travelers make their own arrangements.

well, you didn't say what you do for the company, if you clean the bathroom per say, they are not going to pay for any of that, but if your the vice president, well then maybe they will. hard to answer your question if I don't know what you do for the company.
