I used to work for a company that cares for indoor plants. We used bromeliads and orchids for flowering plants. There are so many varieties, and we only replaced them every 4 months. We also used peace lillies (spathifillium) and those last much longer. For green plants, we used pothos, Janet Craig dracenea, mass canes, fiddle leaf ficus, and bamboo palms.

Most things will grow well under fluorescent light. A good low-light plant is pothos, which is a vine, and you almost can't kill them. Another excellent low-light plant is mother-in-law tongue if you want something that you can set on the floor. Both do well with a minimum of watering.

Yes mam,, get bamboo,, you can find it almost anywhere flea markets, wal mart, florists,, all it has to have to grow is some gravel and an inch of water at all times. It can't take direct sunlight so its great for low light.
I feed mine some aquarium plant food once or twice a year.

bamboo is what i have growing in a basement, so it should thrive in your work place. And almost any plant that you can pot will grow nicely in there....snapping dragons? You can make them talk if you get bored lol...

Ferns or a rubber tree plant or cactus. I'm just guessing those are the ones they have on T.V. shows.
