Its subtle, but High Plains Drifter (Clint Eastwood, 1973) is a great movie.
At times brutally violent and even strange but it is highly original and stands on its own thirty+ years after its release. (ending is great) It's Clint's "Man with No Name" character from the Dollars trilogy with depth and mystique.
Is he the ghost of the murdered town sheriff? Most likely and either way he's got something for the tough guy bully's who killed him in the first place.
