Football is the greatest game in the world. Love of the game can bring people and nations together. However, we Brits seem to have more than a fair share of idiots who clearly have little understanding of history and therefore choose to "hate" for example, Germany and Argentina, simply because of past conflicts. Should we Brits therefore "hate" Spain, the USA and the rest of the world simply because we have been at war with them and almost every country in the world?

Football is wonderful, the greatest show on earth. You need to experience the big games and the small games. You are over the moon when you win and you are so down when you have lost. Football is emotion, its life, its friendship, its great.
I have supported Poland, Germany, France and Ghana in the world cup.

Love it. Great conversation piece, and football is the ULTIMATE metaphor if you are a creative writer! I support England - my home country - but would love to see Australia doing well. They have a great attitude when it comes to sport, but have had some bad luck when it comes to football. If they 'get amongst' Italy from the start and don't let them settle, I can see then springing a surprise.

Love the World Cup as it keeps you on a knife edge when
England play.You sit there egging England on, but in the back of your mind,you know they are not going to make it to the final.

I'm okay with soccer... I only watch it when there's a FIFA World Cup tournament. =D ... And I watch almost all the matches.
