Because at some point in time, it has worked with some woman in their lives. So, I guess they figure, why not try it again?
When guys do that to me, I pretend like I believe them for a little while. It's funny. Then the lies/ stories/ excuses get sloppier and sloppier. It can be quite amusing sometimes.
Eventually, when guys mature (IF they mature), they tend not to do this sort of stuff as much. Be patient. It can take a while.

Because women will let them get away with it.
A guy tells my friend he'll call her, doesn't and she trips all over it, but is too ashamed to point out to him that he lied to her (said he'd do something than didn't) and pretends to his face that she's not upset and nothing's wrong.
A guy I'm seeing tells me something and than later told me something else, I caught him in a lie, but I didn't point it out to him because I didn't care enough to.

Because most do. Sometimes I look at my girl friends and wonder where they left their brain. But you know love makes us all stupid from time to time.

I don't really know, but I think the guy I am dating probably think I am crazy, I am young but not stupid.
