While pregnant with my son, no. I was more regular than ever. With my daughter, I was extremely constipated. And when I could use the bathroom it was very painful. My daughter was in breech position until the week before I delivered and sat on my bowels. Her Little head was between my rib cage and until just last month ribs were still sore (she is 8 months old now). Magnesium (Rolaids) is good for constipation, but not too much. Also, if your iron level is not low ask for a prenatal vitamin without iron. That was the difference with me. But I usually maintain a very high iron level. Also, plain old regular iced tea works for me. You will urinate a lot, but the tannic acid or something stimulates the bowels as well. At least it does me. Good luck.

Its very common during pregnancy. The vitamins, iron or just the moving of internal organs can cause it. If you're taking iron and feel that could be the cause try taking an iron supplement that has a stool softener with it, also they make prenatal vitamins with stool softeners. If its not from any of those things, then you could eat more fiber (apples w/ peeling, raisin bran is good for this, etc) which helps with regularity, drinks LOTS of water and last resort take a stool softener like Colace.

Yes, stool softeners help. Try eating raisin bran and drinking orange juice, something about the combination boosts available iron and helps your iron levels so you don't have to take extra supplements of iron on top of your prenatal vitamins. Those iron supplements make a bad situation worse when it comes to constipation during pregnancy.

I'm 21 weeks prego and I hadnt had an issue until just the last few days... I try to drink lots of water, and eat fruit(apples, peaches, pinapple...) which seem to help. Tummy sure was hurting yesterday and I ate a cna of pinapples and it helped. Thank goodness because that's not a pleasant feeling! On the pregnancy site I go on one lady suggested warm prune juice, I know it sounds nasty but if youre feeling really bad and need to go then that's a safe way!

OMG yes the prenatal vitamins were terrible! So much iron that u get VERY constipated. Eat lots of fiberous foods and that should help to ease it up. Also try to avoid lots of binding foods (like rice and banana's and stuff like that).
Hope you're able to go lol! :)

some women do because when you get pregnant you baby pushes on your intestines so i recommend you to drink plenty of fluids and that will help. also constipation can be caused by the amounts of iron you are consuming. check with your doctor.

Yes you can, it's one of the symptoms of pregnancy. Constpation happens because of hormones and also because your growing uterus presses against your digestive organs.
It's normal but if it gets bad, you can try to get relief by drinking prune juice, lots of water, and eat plenty of fibrous foods to get more fiber into your system. Make sure you don't strain at the toilet so you won't get hemorrhoids.
Goodluck!
