We've been to dermas, allergy docs, buy only sensitive products, I now have my poor cat living in our garage for about 1 wk. cleaned the carpets and am going to see what that does. Who has some similar issues and have found what helps? (Allergies have just been showing 4 a month now. Maybe cause it's spring now).

eczema is also known as atopic dermatitis, it is a rough, red, patchy rash that is usually associated with extremely dry skin. Often it forms large infected patches on the fronts of elbows and the back of the knees. These patches are extremely itchy, which if scratched could make the infected area worse. Many experience hand eczema, scaly, split, bleding dry hands. It is not contaigious but does seem to run in families. In certain cases of eczema can be the result of an allergic reaction occuring on the skin. The cause of it is unkown but aggravating factors include hands that are in frequent contact with soap and water, harsh household products and vegetable juices, such as potato and onion juices.

ABC Hair & Body Wash or Arbonne Intelligence Cleansing Gel: For the hands and body, in the bath or shower

ABC Body Oil or Arbonne Intelligence Skin Conditioning Oil: Once skin has been towel dried but left a little damp

Applications should be repeated as often as needed throughout the day to moisturize and condition skin while alleviating the discomfort and aggravating itch.

My son is 2 years old and has had it from birth. I am 25 and I have had it my whole life (off and on). It can be caused from a number of things as the doctor's have already explained that to you. There is an oil that the doctor has to prescribe. Its main use is for eczema of the scalp but it works anywhere on the body. The best home remedy that beats all doctor's suggestions is either Crisco Shortening (not the oil) or Vaseline (or Eucerin). Try to stay away from lotions, instead use creams or petroleum based products, they lock the moisture in longer. Only allow her around 15 minutes bathtime no more than 2 times a day. Anymore than this causes the underneath layer of the skin to not lock in the moisture. Every time you see your child's skin start to dry out put either one of those on. I have been trying it since the DOCTOR!!! suggested it and my son's eczema is almost clear. Also join the website below they have great tips and information on it. I can tell you some main factors that trigger eczema are dust, pet dander, smoke, & stress (even at 2). I can also tell you (from experience) that once she has broken the skin (from scratching so much) the skin will be sore, it can break open, and even get infected. Stay away from lotions, powder, baby wipes, soaps, etc. that have scents to them. Anything that has a smell to it will irrate her skin.

We have a 1 year old and a 2 year old in the house (I am the grammy) and the poor baby had an awful cough and cold and shared it with the 2 year. The 2 year old was able to take Musinex (not sure of spelling) but they said there is just nothing to do for the 1 year old. The doctor said to stay away from any cold medicines for both boys since anything that will stop coughing means the phelm stays inside them and could cause more problems. The boys were sick about 4 days each and we used baby vicks on their backs, tylenol. Hope your baby feels better soon.

Just took my child to the doc and he said she had a mild case...she is biracial and her skin requires much more moisture than me. He said to wash her with Dove soap and lube her down with Lubriderm lotion. I also use baby oil gel and use a good lotion on top of that. There is also some cream you can use it's in a big white jar (equate brand) that is really thick. It's a knock of of Userine (spelling might be wrong) cream it works really well. Just keep her lubed up often and see if that helps. Good luck. PS she also has seasonal allergies...

I grew up with eczema. I am very sorry to hear that your daugher has it. Making sure she has a lot of water and that you keep her in cotton clothing, should cut down on the irritation. I wouldnt jump on the organic bandwagon too soon. Her allergies are developing at a fast rate. Just keep monitoring her food allergies, sensetivity to outdoors, indoors, and smells. Its a hard process..but making sure she is comfortable will keep her from continuing to have irritated skin.
