The stomach is supposed to secrete a mucous that protects our stomach linings against our own stomach acid.Maybe you have a deficiency of that mucous substance.

One way to cope is to snack frequently, with salads and stuff, to eat up that acid. Then, there's also Pepscid AC.

I think that a quarter teaspoon of baking soda works the best.
Avoid Tums or Pepto-Bismal.

Maybe you should see a doctor, though. At least, don't drink these offending fluids on an empty stomach, Have your tea or coffee after meals, not before.
And double your water intake--just plain water. Good luck.

You should contact your doctor and let him or her know what is going on. My husband has the same problem and our doctor has had him on prilocet for many years. He tried the over the counter stuff and it just is not strong enough. Plus you have to take it every day so it stays in your system. Good Luck!!!!!
