She, her family and friends were transported to Auschwitz and Bergen-Bergen concentration camps. Anne Frank and her mother died of illness and exhaustion in March 1945 a matter of weeks before the camp was liberated.Otto Frank, the father, was the only survivor. If anybody gets the chance please visit Anne Frank House in Amsterdam. Hope this helps and that you enjoyed the book or should I say both books there was a second edition.

The family were spilt up and shipped to concentration camps. Poor Anne died some months before the end of the war. A family member or two survived. The book, as you call it, is her own personal diary.

The section in wikipedia that I have linked below is as accurate as any information I could give you.

I saw a documentary several years ago where they talked to survivors who were in the barracks with Anne when she died. They stated that Anne, though sick, struggled very hard to keep her spirits up for Margot's sake. She saved part of her food and brought it back to the bunk she shared with her sister. Several of the women noted that when Margot died, Anne tried to stay brave, but that what little spark of life was left in her really died. She thought that she had lost everyone in her family, and was entirely alone in the world. One of the women noted that had Anne known her beloved Pim (her nickname for her father, Otto) was still alive, that alone might have been enough to keep her fighting for her life until the camp was liberated. Unfortunately, Anne had no way of knowing that.

The link to the section of the wikipedia article I include below is as factual as any information I know of, and unless someone else comes forward to offer more details (the chances of that happening diminish each year as survivors die of old age) I think that's all we will really know. I do know that one historian speculated that more information may come to light about Anne's experiences in the actual concentration camp later on, after all the women who were around her at the end have died. Some of them may have recorded information in private sources, such as journals or letters to loved ones. But he also stated that there are enough anecdotal accounts of Anne's behavior to show that she stayed the same girl she always was, through all her trials, to the end.

She was a very brave young woman, and I admire her tremendously.

Truly, it's a sad tale, but I can't let it pass without relaying
what happened some years ago in a New York theatre in which Pia Zadora (so hammy, she came with mustard) played Anne Frank in such a wooden manner, that in a scene where she hides upstairs while the actors playing the Nazis search the house, the audience members (who hadn't left in dismay) yelled out to them 'She's in the loft! Up there!'
Very cruel, bad taste, but true. And funny.

She was taken from her family and transported to Bergen-Belsen, one of the worst camps in history. Her 'boyfriend' still lives to this day :)

She died. Not to sound mean, but that is what happened. Some of her family survived though.
