Can anyone tell me how I would go about finding the computer port number? Also is there a password to go along with the port number? How would I find that if so?

Most computers have many ports numerically arranged starting with 0 (zero). Each port has a specific function for either receiving or sending data. The Gibson Research Company has a really cool way to check your computer's vulnerability to internet hackers and to see just how secure your ports are. You can go to:
www.grc.com
and run their "ShieldsUp" utility. You can also see how many ports you have as well as your IP address that's sent out on the net. The ShieldsUp is free and it's about half way down their home page.

A computer hasn't got a "port number", it's called an IP Address
Clicking on this link will show your IP Address:
http://www.whatsmyip.org/

It has also about 65535 available ports that are used by network programs to be able to communicate (e.g. if you are surfing to a certain website, your web browser will contact port 80 of the web server) ;-)

Maybe you should do some research on ports and port numbers before you go about asking dumb questions. Once you figure out how ports work go here: http://www.iana.com/assignments/port-numbers

Computers have many ports (and I assume we are talking about TCP/IP ports). There is no one that goes along with your computer. Maybe if you could be a little more specific. Yeah, I agree with the above, perhaps you meant the IP address.

Port numbers are assigned and used by applications. Networks by default pass all ports. Routers by default block all incoming ports unless your PC opened them in the first place (outgoing is always allowed)

I would be clearer if you told what goal you are trying to accomplish and what software you want to use to accomplish it.
