I have a computer tower I need to load information on with no monitor for it. Is there a way to plug the tower into my laptop and us my laptop as the monitor to load information on the tower. The tower needs everything downloaded on it from windows XP to the internet. Can someone tell me how to do this or if it is even possible. Also I don't want to risk all the info on my laptop being put on the tower and then unretrievable.

I don't know all the details to situation but with monitors being available for well under $100, I wonder if all the trouble you are willing to go through is worth it.

A second option might be to borrow a monitor to do the work with then return it.

You could even buy a monitor, and take it back for a refund when you a through.

As far as using your laptop display for a monitor, I'm sure it could be done but I don't know how.

If you have USP on both computers, you may be able to use the drives in your laptop to load the hard drive in the tower directly.

Just some random thoughts along the line I would be thinking about if I were faced with your problem.

Good luck and I hope you find something here that helps.

Well there is no way to share Laptops monitor with the tower. But u can network them using lan (Although to do this u will need a monitor)

The best option is to buy a monitor.

Put the hard drive from the desktop into an external usb enclosure. Without pre-configuring the desktop for remote access, it's next to impossible to do it without a monitor.

Either way, there's going to be cost incurred of some level. Probably the best is to put a monitor on the tower.

You can't use your laptop display as the monitor. However, you can network then, and remote control it as if you are using the laptop display as monitor.

Buy a cheap used monitor. I have seen new ones for as little as $89.00 so a used one should be half of that.

In a word, no, you can't do that. Borrow or beg your way to a monitor.
