In the world of Star Trek, the Planet Earth has managed to overcome most global differences and refocus their governments, religions, and societal norms on a similar paths. Together this allowed for the the planet to pool significanlty greater resources, eliminate waste and redundacy and give individuals the freedom to pursue greater self-development resulting in more significant participation in society and overall personal satisfaction.
Whats first steps do you think we would need to take to begin mapping a path towards this global village? What personal ideals would you be willing to sacrifice for the greater good?

The enemy of my enemy is my friend...Once the USA takes over the entire planet we will achieve a society that Roddenberry would embrace. Just kidding. Why do we always want to homogenize everything. Let's embrace diversity and leave cultures alone. I've always wondered about the Star Trek Earth and yet they had the prime directive.
