Trust me and everyone else who's answered this question.

IT'S A SCAM!

Probably run out of Nigeria therefore it's known as a Nigerian 401 scam.

They'll say like "you've won £1million but we need to ask for £1,000 from you to cover costs incurred in sending out your prize".

You'll pay them the money and then you'll never hear from them ever again.

Even if you do receive a cheque / cashiers slip thing for £1million you'll end up even more out of pocket when it doesn't clear the bank and your charged for it.

100% scam and a phishing exercise. ignore it and or send it to the cyber crimes department at your local police i think the police in general are cracking down on that type of scam, i may be wrong though.

anything like that. or anything claiming to be from your bank NEVER click on the links in the email.
in the case of your bank if you bank online send a copy of the smpam to your banks spoof emails investigation department. ask your bank for the email address.

What it is all about is separating you from your money. If they don't ask for it up front they will get around to it after a big build-up.
