It seems that younger and younger girls (and boys) seem to be sexually curious. I see very many posts on here by 14 and even 12 year old children asking questions about sex! Do they not realize that they are far too young to be worrying about these things? I understand that they see this in the media and society but where are the parents? Shouldn't their parents be explaining sex to them and explaining that it is a major physical and emotional decision that should not be taken lightly and should not be done at such a young age? I want to understand what is happening to our youth. Perhaps someone can tell me what the fascination with sex is with kids these days.

The curiosity is not really what concerns me. It is that this sexual curiousity is leading to sexual activity at VERY young ages.

I'ts a sad thing to see or hear of these young girls dressing sexy, flirting w' older men, being promiscuous, talking as naughty as a female dog in heat...and it's no wonder these girls are stalked by perverts or worse. I have a beautiful 12-year old who looks 16, and it makes me want to puke, the older men who flirt w' her!! I've had several discussions w' her about these dangers and others, and she is armed w' knowledge and awareness of the likelihood of this now and in her future.
Which brings me to your answer--lack of parental supervision is the first key to keeping our daughters from acting like dogs.
This isn't rocket science--supervise them, know their hangouts, their friends, put parental locks on their computers, eavesdrop on their phone conversations, allow them to dress properly, don't let them have cell phones, check in with schools, and take them to church--OR instill the values that church would teach.

Sexual curiosity is not a new thing. Women and men have always been obsessed with it from an early age. It's biology. However, since the sexual revolution women feel empowered enough to finally talk about it. Society has finally opened up, and a conversation can begin. Since this open conversation is a new thing it gives the appearance that kids are more sexually active or curious. However, it's always been this way.

Have you stopped to take a look around you? Sex is in everything our kids see, internet, TV, magazines, music, and even video games, you want to know why these children are so curious about sex? They see it all around them. It is up to us as parents to talk to them, let them know the rights and wrongs. Teach them about it, of course be age appropriate about it, but dont leave them to wonder and question anything. You can not leave it up to society to raise our kids, they would all be sexually active by the age of 12 if that were the case, there has to be boundaries, people just let kids go on the internet, porn for free anytime anywhere. Same with the television. Monitor what your kids see and hear, we can not protect them from it forever, but we can do our best to keep their childlike faith as long as possible. We need to educate them.

Because kids can see and hear sex everywhere, most of hip hop song talk about something sexual, same thing on TV, and people and the streets doesn't care about showing their affection on public, its a very sad thing that our kids don't care anymore on thing like the barbies or the action figures, they ask instead for ipods video games and all that kind of stuff, I know that times change but in this case is not for good.

Probably because most parents don't think their children are interested in sex and don't want to know they are. Plus its uncomfortable for most kids to ask their parents embarrassing questions about sex. In some households the mention of sex is forbidden which leads to kids going out asking their peers or total strangers online then experimenting it.

All young kids are sexually curious at a hell of a lot younger than 12.

The media is all to thank for this. We have idols that dress up in a sexual way. All of these things affect the way kids turn out. In my generation, we didn't care about all that. All that mattered was having fun with friends. Times have changed....for the worst??? or for the better?...........

Girls and guys have always been curious and interested about sex. But we know live in a society shich basically is morally, culturally, and ethically BANKRUPT.

With no moral precepts to live by, anything and everything goes.
