I am just going to start birth control pills, do you have to take it one the first day of your period or the second day is fine?

you can start it at any time. Your doctor will tell you when to start yours.

Most birth control pills tell you to start taking the first pill the sunday after your period starts. To be sure ask your health care professional. They will always be able to give you the right information, and if you are scared to ask you can always call. Or call a hotline like planned parenthood to talk to someone privately about issues that make you uncomfortable.

I was always told the first Sunday after your period begins, but I think that was to get you into a routine (you'd always start a new week on Sunday then).

there are two ways to start......the first day of your period, or the first sunday of your period (or monday or what ever day of the week you select).....so yes you could take it on the second, third or whatever day of your period so long as you take them every day after that

Depends on the kind. Ask your Dr to be sure. I had to start mine the Sunday after my period. but that was many moons ago.

Should be first Sunday after your period.
If your period starts on a Sunday, take it then.

It doesn't matter. You'll have to use a back up the first month or two anyway while the hormones start to do their job.
