I have irregular period, since I got it at the tender age of 11. Now that I am in my late 20's, this is the longest I've been without my period. One month skipping or 40ish days are norm...but not 76 days like this time (as of today). I will go check w/ my doctor next week if I test and not pregnant. Thanks to all who've answered, your answered really helped! Lately, I've been kind of stress and eating hot foods (chili, crawfishes w/ canjun chili, etc.).

I was in my late teens when I did not have my period for 9 months, no sexual activity, so cannot be pregnant. It turned out that it was caused by too much exercise and rapid weight loss as I was in a very strict diet at that time. When the body experiences rapid loss of body fat, it tends to "hibernate", thus stops doing its regular activities.
This condition of the cessation of a woman's menstrual period is called amenorrhea(secondary) and can be attributed to several reasons aside from being pregnant:
1. due to breastfeeding
2. menopause
3. stopping birth control pills
4. use of long-acting progesterone such as Depo-Povera
5. tumors of the pituitary gland
6. polycystic ovary disease
7. emotional or physical stress
8. obesity
9. hypothyroidism
10. rapid or excessive weight loss. those with eating disorders like anorexia would undergo this condition
11. frequent strenuous exercise, for athletes in training
Check if you are undergoing any of these conditions, else go to your doctor for check-up to be on the safe side. Better to be safe than sorry.

Some women have one period a year. Then they'll have one every three months. It's not exact. There are a lot of things that affect your cycle and hormones, so menstruation can be VERY irregular and is for a lot of women.
Me, the lucky one, I have never, ever missed a period in my life. Blagh. But I wouldn't be worried if I did, unless I had cause to think I might be pregnant.

There are many reasons why you can skip a period or two and not be pregnant. If you are young and started menstrating recently, periods can be very erratic. If you are very thin, or have recently lost a great deal of weight, or are sick, you can stop menstrating. If you are under alot of stress, your periods can stop. Also, if you are anywhere from 35 up, you may be beginning menopause. If it concerns you, it's best to see your doctor.

I went 8 months without a period once, and wasnt pregnant, so dont worry too much.
Depends how old you are - in your teens they can be all over the place, when u r older it can be due to stress.

It is possible for you to skip your period for a few months and not be pregnant... your best source is to go see a doctor and talk to him/her.

It really depends on how things are going in life. For example, if you are under a lot of stress, you will not have one.
