Because people all believe in the myth of the full moon. Studies have shown the is no difference in activity during a full moon compared to a non-full moon. This is a good artical to read about it. Even because the moon controls the tides, does not mean it controls us. Once again, just a myth! LOL!

I've sometimes noticed that there seems to be extra energy in the air on full moon nights. In stories, the full moon can bring out supernatural creatures or carry hints of another world--such as the realm of the dead. I've never seen anything supernatural--these are only stories, of course--but some people seem to sense that everyone around them has extra energy and as a result, business as usual might get disrupted. It may be empty superstition, or maybe not. The full moon does pull at the tides stronger, so it may have some effect on people that we are unaware of.

Actually since the moon has the effect over the tides in the oceans it also affects the water content of people, as you know we are made of mostly water, so to the point the moon pulls on our water content like it does the oceans, thus the "crazies" and why some people have bad days because of it

I answer your question very seriously. I worked at Rehabilitation Center for a long time. On the eve of a full moon, one of our nurses told me, she had to stock up on pain medication and a few other medications as she pulled her records one time and looked to compare the full moon days to regular days, and her medication use went WAY up on the eve of a full moon, or day of.
Funny thing is that, the residents had no way of knowing if there was a full moon!

I dont know exactly but you can definately tell in kids, they get really crabby the fuller the moon gets, and I know that ERs are usually on high alert on those nights, because more things happen. Think of it this way, the moon controls tides so the stronger the pull the more effect it has on everything.
