The extended DVDs really help expalin the story much better. They contain scenes that are in the books, that couldn't be in the theatrical versions because of time restraints. If you're a fan of the films, they are a must see. They also contain some really great bonus material that can't be found on the original dvds.

The extended movies have about 20 to 30 minutes of film that where left out of the original release.

Uhh, the movie is extended. There are scenes from the book that were left our of the movie for time that you'll never get to experience if you dont see the extended version
