Because the nicer you are, the more people think they can walk all over you and treat you anyway they want. There is nothing wrong with being nice, but don't be a pushover.

I agree.....the behavior of being "nice" is often mistaken as a weakness or a sense of needy...I hate to admit it..but when i was dating this guy ..he said to me.."I think you are too needy" I was crushed. I was doing what i thought was a kind gesture and that was I being polite, and caring...I was pushed away. It seems as if you treat people harshly they are attracted to that..but you know sometimes we learn and grow. I am still very caring and loving..that's who I am I cannot change that....but what I am not anymore is a "pushover" and I let him know it.
Be confident in who you are. The person looking for your type will find you....someone else with a kind gentle heart.
Just be aware that you do not have to agree with everything or do what he/she may want to do.
Best regards.
