Who is familiar with the ORIGINAL VERSION of Cape Fear? Not the Scorces version. Both versions are awesome in their own ways, but it'd be great if the original was given more recognition as it is a really effective little B-grader.

I haven't seen the original, but I'll look for it -- I used to live on the Cape Fear River, though, isn't that creepy?

I liked the original! Robert Mitchum sure did have a way of sleepily keeping his eyes half closed, while very intensely and alertly looking at a person. How did he DO that??! Great movie!

I actually like the original version in black and white better. There is a lot more drama in the original and certainly over acting, but I agree it doesn't get the praise it deserves.

That version starred Gregory Peck and Robert Mitchum. I liked it better than the remake.

Ohh I love the origonal black and white one! The scene where hte daughter is being stalked in the school (I think it's a school, been a long time) is scary!
