I also have a five month old baby. I thought that question myself. When I was in the store i read the box and it says not until ten months to a year. I didn't buy them I am afraid he will choke. He has no teeth yet. He is eating baby food and to all the people answering it is fine with his doctor that he is eating baby food. Everything that you read say wait until 7 months. I am a mother of four and none of my children waited until 7 months to eat food. Good luck to you and your little one. I say do what ever you think is best for him.

defintely not!! he is to young plus the risk of him being fat is there. I would wait til he has more teeth. Read the back of the teething box, it will tell you but no. my son will be 5 months old and he will not be ready for a while and my now 8 year old daughter was not ready til 7 months and she had teeth at 5 months. they are a choking hazard. I would not chance it, it is just not worth it. wait!!! If he is that bad teething, get hylands teething tablets, they are in walmart. better than the cookies at this age

I would say if the baby is getting teeth then teething cookies are okay, just don't give them to him/her when laying flat. Make sure the baby is sitting up.

If teething is a problem for you now I HIGHLY recommend homeopathic teething tablets. Sorry, I can't remember the name of them because my kids are much older now, but I know you can get them at Wal-Mart and "homeopathic teething tablets" is part of the name. Someone recommend them to me when my first child started teething and they are amazing! The desolve instantly and within 5 min the baby feels better.

Good luck

no
as a nutritionist I will tell you
babys cannot digest solid food till at least 6 months of age :)

The AAP and the US Surgeon General among others recommend that infants be exclusively breastfed until "at least" 6 months, which means no other foods, cereals, juice, water, or formula. Babies younger than 6 months lack the enzymes necessary to digest foods other than breast milk. Feeding solids too early increases risks for obesity, diabetes, and food allergies. In fact, most babies are not ready for solids until after 6 months, some need as much as 8 months.

feel free to contact me if you want more information about it

When our daughter was that age she ate a lot of solid foods. It just depends on how many teeth your child already has and if they have a tendency to choke on anything. I would suggest to give the child a teething cookie (if your child has enough teeth to eat it of course) and just supervise them to make sure they don't choke. Good luck!

i would ask your baby Dr first. because some say no solids until 6 months but my Dr took a look at my son and started him with cereal and now he is on applesauce and bananas so the teething cookies i would ask the Dr before giving just to be safe

good luck

i started giving my son teething cookies and the large pretzel sticks when he was about 5 months old just so that he could have something to chew on besides my finger of course i watched him and once they got to soggy and started breaking apart i fliped it over so that he could chew on the other side then when that side was soggy too i took it away from him so that he would not choke on them it all depends on if you are patient enought to sit with him and watch him constantly or not

I did with both of my boys. Just sit right there with your baby to make sure s/he doesn't take a bite out of the cookie and choke. I gave both of my boys zwieback and biter biscuits...both of which were very hard and dry. They loved them!

Sure, if you want a big baby. Try freezing a wet new wash cloth, and have the baby try that out. It works quite well.

Yes, but with everything else you give a child that could be a choking hazard make sure you stay with them until they are finished.
