What's happened to the home and away omibus that used to be on on Saturday mornings on channel five? Is it coming back or have they killed it off forever. (was the only chance of me ever catching the show. Became obsessed again after returning from Australia)

I emailed channel 5 to ask them this question. I got a somewhat convoluted response, but the nub of the answer is that the people who are in charge of the independent Terrestrial Channels (ITV1, CH4 & 5) had a program review last year.
The upshot of this review was that 5 had to reduce the number of imported shows and broadcast more home grown (British) ones. They were essentially ordered to stop showing the omnibus of H&A as a result of this. Apparently they announced this change at the end of one of the Christmas/New Year episodes, and the omnibus was dropped a few months ago, without any further warning. It will not be returning in its omnibus form unless a further review allows for this to happen.

they are not doing the omnibus anymore which is a shame as I love home and away. channel 5 said it is already repeated at lunch time during the day but most people are at work. bloody channel 5 lol

no home and away isnt coming on saturdays anymore because not lot of people use to watch it i read this in a newspaper
