ohhh yes the candy I forget about that. I wanted to take something for the kids!! I was thinking candy, and maybe some sun glasses or something.
Another question would it be weird to take them some clothes my kids have outgrown?

The waterfall is VERY worth it. Go to Ricks Cafe. It is very touristy but fun. Just to say you have been there. You can jump 35 feet off the cliffs there into the ocean and they have good Reggae. No charge for that but the drinks and food are pricey. I say you need to leave the resort and see the REAL Jamaica. Don't be afraid to talk to people. They are all very nice people there. It is not weird to take items you don't use anymore, just make sure they are still in good shape. Your maids can usually take them and make sure they get to people who need them. Good things to take are: Soaps, razors, lotions, dental care items, any school supplies, socks and underwear. Many of the things we use everyday, they just don't have or can't afford. Just remember that the Jamaicans are proud people, they will appreciate all you give them, just do it in a way that is not "charity". Maybe say, you have some extra things left over or give them something if they assist you. Have fun!

I just got back from spending 8 days there. I dont have much advise other then this. Dunn's River Falls is highly overrated, at least when I went, it was spectaularly beautiful but CROWED.
