The first UTI I ever had was 8 months ago, since then there have been 2 more. I've taken cipro, nitro, amoxycilin, and uristat. I took cranberry pills, flora q, drink lots of water, vitamin c, and always void after sex now. Take birth contoI. Had very bad syptoms the last UTI and also kidney (i think) pain. I went back to my gyno for a checkup and test was still positive for blood cells (dip stick) but nothing abnormal grew in the culture. Vag swab normal. There is a burning sensation when i pee, though not as much pain as my UTIs. My doc thought it was inflammation or my urethra was damaged from the bacteria so he put me on a very low dose of cipro once a day to keep me from getting re-infected, but that was two refills ago and it still burns when i pee. Meds cause yeast. No stds. I am so sick of being sick! Sex makes the burning sensation when i pee a little worse, though doesn't hurt itself unless it lasts a long time. I know i'm writing a novel but I'm desparate.

I think you should give the antibiotics a time out. You may have a yeast overgrowth problem. Most doctors won't acknowledge that this exists. My sister has a huge problem with it. Antibiotics kill all the bacteria in your body, including the good. Try eating lots of good yogurt. Read the label to see how many different kinds of live cultures it contains. Stoneybrook Farms Organic is a good one, it has four kinds. Also, take some probiotics. Go to your natural foods store or co-op and ask someone for a recommendation. You could try going on a yeast diet. Is very hard, but worth the effort. Try www.lifeforceplan.com
Good luck.

Maybe you have an allergy to latex or a particular spermicide as well as the chronic bladder infection. To get rid of the bladder infection drink only water all day long, no soda at all. That will definitely help, especially during the summer. If you are using condoms with latex, try using other kinds, or a different type of spermicide.

Cipro should certainly have cleared the infection up by now. Next step - and you'll need to demand it - is an MRI on the urinary tract.

There's something in there that needs to be found.

Good luck. - Stuart

You need to see another doctor! It sounds like something much worse than UTI. Get checked out immediately!
