Absolutely. Be careful when investigating jellyfish that have washed ashore. Although they may be dead, they may still be capable of inflicting stings. Remember to take precautions when removing tentacles after contact or additional stings may result.

HECK YES!!! THat is how I got stung. I remember being a little kid living in Texas. We went to the beach every weekend and I was just sitting on the shore line and a dead jellyfish stung me on the wrist.

Yes it can. Usually its the tenticals on a jellyfish that have the stinging mechanism, so if you touch them, even if its dead, you will get stung.
