ugliest animal?

While some of the deep sea critters like angler fish, or gulper eels look totally alien and bizarre, and others like leeches or centipedes may give people the heebie jibblies, I find that the ugliest critters are the ones that look almost human, but are not quite right, and so they fall into that 'uncanny valley' where they are more disturbing than something completely alien.

So for me, the ugliest critters are:

Depends on what you consider ugly. That depends on what we are taught is ugly. Seriously, ugliness is something we learn to not like but not born knowning what it is. In this world, there is nothing called "ugly" -- it's a man made term to describe something which he/she thinks (but is not) inferior when compared to another.

It's a beautiful world. :)

Sea Cucumber!!! They are awful like a big slimy pile of gross. Plus their defence mechanism is to puke. Sick. Check out this link to see them in all their horror.
