Well, it's hard to help out a guy who doesn't give many details.

If you're tired of working for other people, then you'll have to do some old fashioned saving, or if your credit is good, ask for a loan from a bank.

Start your own business, like a: I'll sell your stuff on Ebay for you type of thing.

Or if you're lazy, try to hurt yourself and get on Social Security for disability, but they're really stingy right now, so chances are you'd get really hurt and then no one would want to hire you and no one would pay you.

It's kind of hard to give you some ideas because you don't give a lot of information. Are you still currently employed? (I ask because you say you are penniless) Are you in good health? (Can you/are you willing to do work that is physically demanding?) Do you have other skills/training other than the fields in which you have previously worked? The answers to these questions would be extremely helpful. At any rate, maybe you could consider some ideas such as: starting your own landscaping/gardening business, starting your own mobile car wash, etc. Maybe you can qualify for financial aid or grants to get some kind a vocational training. Good luck to you.

This should be the focus of every forward looking person. I am a muslim and right from the time i learnt that the best you can be is to be your own boss, i have carefully planned an easy way out.
The way out is not really easy afterall, but the fact of having my freedom with me, is peace in itself.
Erase the thought that you'd need money to start any business. Second, take your pride off your neck and put it in your pocket. Third do not look at the failures of other in a particular endeavour. Fourth take time to learn anything worthwhile. Start any legal business making use of available property at home, in your possession, your family apartment etc.
No one will be your brain, think things out man.

Be a homeless guy! Then you won't be working, but when you decide to beg for money, you'll be your own boss. Imagine, no boss screaming at you for not meeting your fund raising goal for the day, no phones to answer or fancy clothes to wear - now that sounds like the life!

What are you good at doing and what do you love to do? That's the right kind of self-employment for you. Your local enterprise agency can help you start up your own business, including mentoring and sourcing a bit of cash to get it going. Good luck.

Try selling gold grillz in your area, wholesale at first (like the rappers paul wall and nelly).
I opened a gold tooth shop in my town, I can make thousands each month. It just takes a little work and getting the word out. Try getting a large group together and sell in bulk, its easy and make loot real quick. minimal intial investment too.
