Global warming is a reality. Scientists aren't being overly reactionary in saying this, but they're being criticized in an attempt to debunk and disempower their message. A lot of people [especially the powers that be] don't want to bite the bullet and look at how industrial society in the last 100 years has influenced the earth. Think $$.
It's been happening for some time already. Look at all the species that are dying off because of climate change, or the melting of the ice caps. A lot of it can be traced back to unsustainable &/or thoughtless lifestyles (driving a car 2 blocks to get a newspaper when you could walk, buying food off season, excessive plastic everything, etc)
-- An entire American society whose infastructure is completely, utterly dependent on oil to operate? [$$$ over the enviornement?]
Anyway...unless you live in a coastal city, drowning isn't going to be the big issue. Try famines, increased droughts/extreme weather changes, and pandemic illnesses. Seriously. This stuff is being supressed by the mainstream because they don't want people to panic.
Do some research and empower yourself. See the new Al Gore film "An Inconvienient Truth" for starters. Is he really all that radical?

Being a believer in the Bible, but not being over-religious I have to say "live your life". How many people have worried about natural , disasters, the end of the world or any other unpredictable catastrophie. My opinion is that we shouldn't worry about negative things we have no control over. Worrying causes stress and stress leads to all kinds of health concerns. Worry about the things that you can control like getting to school or work everyday and let God control the world. Nothing is as bad as it seems, but anticipation of the negative things in the world will do more damage to you by literally poisoning your mind. Weather patterns have changed throughout history. If you want to do something about it try and do your part to make this world a better place and support others in the same. If we do all drown in a big flood we won't be alone and we will be the last of humankind standing. You were chosen to be on the earth at this time for a reason and it's not to worry. Good luck.

Indigenous people all around the world typically make decisions on what to do not only with regard to how it will effect them, but also how it will effect their descendants for several generations. Modern society, however, is much more short-sighted: the attitude is typically one of "Since it won't effect me now, then I don't care."
However, anyone who plans on having children, particularly if they hope that someday their children will have children should be greatly concerned. The world is already in a great state of crisis in many areas around the globe. However, those of us who live in the wealthy nations exist in such luxury comparatively speaking to the rest of the world that we don't even see what a mess the world already is. It is true then that we probably will not suffer the consequences of global warming all that much even though perhaps the weather will be a bit more extreme from time to time. However, we are in the process of making this world an unbelievable hell for our grandchildren and their children in the future.
The threat of global warming goes far beyond simple drowning. While coastal regions will flood more frequently(and only eventually be submerged), the main consequences of unrestrained global warming will include lack of drinkable water, crop loss from drought, increased disease and famine, and finally warfare over dwindling resources.

Well nothing is "RITE" to worry about ;) . But no it is not right to worry. What is the reason in worrying? If you believe in God you know that he will never flood the world again. If you believe in reincarnation then you will just die and be well... reincarnated. If you believe we are just here and have no purpose well then you shouldn't worry about dying because then your life is meaningless anyways.
Oh and I studied a fair amount of natural and biological science in college. There is no proof of global warming. However we were told that if you come up with an idea that is unique hold on to it and study it. These scientists/meterologists push this topic because it keeps bringing in the money. They support the issue and write grants to study global warming and in turn collect money for their studies. IT GIVES THEM A JOB. Make sense? Makes sense to me. People will say anything or believe anything if it means money in their pocket.

There have been 2 reports from our scientific elites.. one indicating it hasn't been this warm for 400 years and another stating 2000 years. Allows the question to be brought up, what caused the temperature to increase at either of those times.. apparently there were no auto emissions nor aerosols.. why would the temp rise during those times??? Suggesting this is a normal phenomena which occurs quite cyclically. The coral reefs which turn white during these episodes have been traced back to reveal this to be a recurring event on our globe. Dating back millenia. Worrying about it will do nothing but continue to make you very uncomfortable.

It is indeed rite to be worried about global warming. And, it is also rite to be worried that we ALL COULD DROWN! But wait, there's more: it is extra RITE to worry that a comet could smash into earth an vaporize us ALL, plus the ANIMALS, and even the ENTIRE PLANET!!!!!
Furthermore, it is eminently RITE to worry that your town could take your property away, and give it to a rich developer to build luxury condos on so they could get even richer!
Then, it is also super RITE to worry that a huge hurricane will come, and destroy all the luxury condos, and the government will raise YOUR taxes so that the rich owners can rebuild!
There's a lot to worry about.

Yes, global warming is very serious and real. You will not drown if you dont live in a coastal city like New York city. The ice caps are all melting fast because selfish people are driving SUVs and big trucks that pollute our air. We must all be concerned about global warming because it is real.

Not wrong, really, but ridiculous. If, and that's a great big IF, it does happen its not going to be for a good hundred years and we'll all be wonderfully dead and lying underneath the flood. I'm not worried about it at all. The only reason it seems as bad and imminent as it does is because the democrats in the US want to make as many things look bad during the Bush presidency. It really isn't a problem yet.
