Hey, I know you won't believe this. I also just dropped my cell phone in the toilet, like only an hour ago! It was in my back pants pocket and fell straight into the toilet bowl, nothing was in the bowl, but it's still gross!!! lol
Anyway, first I dried the phone (it's an lg1300) the best I could with a paper towel. Then, I took off the battery and removed the SIM card and wiped everything off everything there. Where the SIM card is, there are little copper pieces that give a little when pushed on. I pushed on these with the paper towel and LOTS of water came out. I have my desk fan pointed toward the ceiling with my phone laying on it right now. I tried turning the phone on once after 15 minutes because I was curious to see if it worked or not. IT WORKED PERFECT!!! I tried every feature and I think it worked better than it did before I submerged it lol. But, I took it back apart and have it laying on the fan again now. I want it to dry as thorough as possible.
Of course, I don't have insurance on the phone and my battery has the little red dot that tells on you if the phone has been exposed to water. That sux.
But maybe you should try that and see if it works for you. I know it's probably not a permanent fix because a girl I work with dropped hers in a sink full of water while washing dishes. She got it out almost as soon as it was fully submerged and left it in the sun for a few hours. It worked fine for a few months. Now, it won't even turn on.

p.s.
I have been told that if you plug the charger in before the phone has completely dried out that it will fry the circuits and the phone will be done for.

open the casing so you can see the circuitry. Place it in the oven set at 50 deg C (110 deg F) for an hour will dehydrate the water (putting it in direct sunlight will have a similar effect), then brush lightly with circuit cleaner (electrical cleaning fluid available at electronics shops) to get out the 'impurities' and other tiny foreign objects too small to see with the naked eye. reassemble the phone, being extremely careful not to detach wiring throughout this whole process, and hoping you havent broken any of the clips that mannufacturers design to only be used once in the initial assembly of the phone. Replace the battery (they are usually affected by water and cannot be cleaned), then hope beyond hope that the central processor dehydrated enough to remove the water, but not enough to fuse the nodes (a precarious fine line). In the 1 in 1000 chance that all this works and you get your phone back, it will be unstable and probably die within 6 months, so there better be a very valuable phone number which you only kept in your mobile phone's contacts book. Good luck.

First of all I really wonder what were you doing with your cellphone in the bathroom... as for your query... you certainly wont be able to replace it as the guarantee doesnt cover something as bizzare as "toilet water". You just have one option take the battery out and if you can take the front cover out too. keep the phone near a heater and let it dry for more than 2 days along with the battery. Now after 48 hours put the battery back in the phone and restart it. If it starts dont get happy yet because it can still bail out. Use every feature of the phone and see if it works properly. NOW FOR THE MAJOR TEST... plug your phone in for a charge if it charges completely without any problems it will be useful again...but... be careful... the circuits, if not dried properly, may fuse out .. so try it at your own risk.

PS: Please give the model of your phone also... it makes it easier to answer

Damn the same thing happened to me not too long ago. If you have insurance you should be able to claim for another phone (with a small fee), however if you don't, there are some shops which can sometimes revive phones back to life but it's not guaranteed that all the data stored on the phone will be safe.

Your only hope is an airing cupboard/boiler room - the heat will sometimes dry the circuits out. But if it has been totally immersed then you probably have no hope.

Try e-bay or similar to get a cheap second hand one till you are eligible for an upgrade.

try taking the battery out of the back. dry it off as well as the inside of the phone, then shake the phone, up and down(without the battery in it) to get the water from inside it out. then dry the phone, put the battery back in and see what happens.

take the battery out and blow dry the inside of the phone on low heat.

let it dry over-night w/o the battery and it should work fine...

i dropped mine in the dog dish and this worked for me.

cheers!

The same thing happened to me and it was totally ruined. Luckily I had handset insurance and only had to pay a small price to replace it!
