Yes you will see that. You will also appreciate more as you grow and mature as well. You will love the music you grew up with. And you know why? Music is a source of time travel. A song can strike up a memory that you wouldn't have remembered without it. The songs you are listening to today during todays experiences you will remember 20, 30, 40 yrs from now. Songs remind me of everything from riding in the car with my parents, driving my own car at 16, and driving while my son was in the backseat singing along. You will hear "50 Cent" played by a 80 yr old guy just like you hear do-wap today. The thing is that if you really love music then you know it changes and you have to change with it.

I am 42 and still love the music I grew up with, with the exception of a few songs, but I bet you have them as well. It just reminds you of good times. While I keep up with current music, pop,hip hop, not really into rap and all the violence and cursing. But, hey when your 90, put the top down, blast 50 cent, and let the youngsters laugh, you will be having a good time.

Well for me I grew up listening to my parents music and most of that I still like (save for neil diamond the man makes me ill LOL). As for what I listened to I loved rap and hip hop too. And the stuff I listend to then i still like... for the most part now... I don't like rap and hip hop... rap has become something of a "I'm better than you are" game who ever has the most toys wins. I liked rap that talked about how real life was.. weither it be in silly ways but true like will smith or down right hard knocks like say tupac. I can't stand most of todays rappers because its not about where they came from... they couldn't care less about letting the world know what is going on in the ghetto... or trying to make it better. Also save for a select few i don't know if most of the hip hop r&b artists have much of any talent... take that milkshake song that was so huge... have you ever hears something more stupid... and the girl has no talent at all. She just knows how to shake what her mama gave her... that makes her a dancer not a singer or a rapper there for she shouldn't be trying....
But that's just me

I grew up listening to-and loving-the music of the late 50s and early 60s. Granted, some of it came out around the time I was born, but I heard it when I was about 9 or 10 and thought it was wonderful. I'll always love that music, and my cd collection will prove it!

I'm one of those lucky people where I grew up with different types of music - I would listen to big band and swing perry como and frank Sinatra with my dad but I listened to Michael Jackson and David Casidy
my grandmother Loved Tom Jones and we would all watch him on Sundays but my older sister liked Best of Bread and James Taylor - I never listened to the Beatles till much later (when John died I asked my sister why every one was so hysterical over some Russian (Lennon) Today I listen to country and hip hop and I love rap. When people get hooked on only the music of their generation then you start to get old. I feel I 'm current with whats out there

Times and tastes change, and the tastes of youth are tempered with experience and increased knowledge. WHen I was younger, disco was big (I hated it!). Disco is pretty much deceased now. I grew up with classical music. That only gets better with time! I also enjoyed the music of the 60's and 70's. I still do, although I don't listen to them as much as I did. The good news is, you are free to listen to what you like (at a reasonable sound level), for as long as you like.

I will always like the music I grew up with because it brings back memories of growing up. A song can take me back to a great memory or a sad memory. It is a part of me, and now I am introducing some of it to my daughter. I still like new music as well, but the music I grew up will always be in my heart and head.

Yes. You'll always love it.
Think about the hippies of the sixties and early seventies and what they'll be listening to in nursing homes. Hendrix...the Stones...Crosby, Stills, and Nash....
By the time you're 90, 50 cent will sound old fashioned to young ears, not modern. It'll sound like what you think of the oldies music on the radio now.

You will always listen to the music you grew up with. That doesn't mean you won't listen to modern music. I listen to music from the 60s to the present. I love music.

You THINK it would be funny -- but when it happens, you'll be like -- no big deal. As times change, so do people and music an it's not as strange as you think it would be. I'm 48 and I like all the same music you like. I have two kids though and pretty much got into their music with them. (The are older too)
I seem to lean towards the music of the time. I do enjoy (sometimes) going back to the oldies music but not as a rule.
