I'm yet to see or read it anywhere in the world where it's stated that guys MUST be the ones to ask gurls out. If love is an outlet of feelings and emotions between a man and woman, then are we saying that only men possess emotional capabilities? There's an adage among the Yoruba people of Nigeria where I come from which says: "If a man sees a snake but is timid or afraid, but a woman who's bold enough kills the snake, it's alright for the society cos the community is saved from undue apprehesion of an escaped snake that might strike at any time". I can say from experience that a lot of ladies have missed their would-be b/f because of this "unwarranted and unnecessary" belief that a guy must take the first initiative.

It's our job to do it but if we're taking too long we don't have any objections getting asked out. Things that might be delaying him is he's not quite sure if you like him that way or not, if you're single, if you just want to be friends is just a few of the things that is slowing him down.

nah, it aint any genders job. a girl can ask a guy out, thats fine. and, it also makes it easier for the guy if he likes you too...... so, it might be a plus, acctually, lol. i also think that women can propose...... cause, in either scenerio, if the women feels that way, ya gotta do something with it, and if the guy wont do it you cant wait around all of your life, so just do it.

I've been asked out once before, and i have to admit i did feel a little uncomfortable about it. Merely because i don't like to say no for fear of ending up on a hit-list, woman scorned and all that.
If you know him and like him best of luck, I'd like it to happen again though, some time before i die.

well, nature has it that the male does the chasing......but there is nothing wrong with a girl doing the proposing just as long as the guy does some of the chasing as well.
