Zionism. Like saying the Zionist control the banks etc..all false of course but it plays well in the community of people with IQ's below 75

That's a very complex question. But since I don't like giving 10000 word answers like a lot of people- I'll give the abridged answer.

I think in a certain context, Zionism can be seen as racism.But whereas many other kinds of racism agrresively seeks out other lands- Zionists only wanted one land- their historical homeland. Contrast that with Nazi Germany which wanted not only the German speaking areas(such as Germany, Austria, Sudetland, etc), but also wanted the Slavic nations and ultimately wanted to control the world.

It might be best to describe Zionism as a sort of Nationalism. It's also interesting to note that many "Zionists" are Christians which is unusual for "racism." Most racists do not have sympathy outside their group.

What complicates this question is being "Jewish" could be a religion, race, or nationality depending on the context.

If I'm correct in my understanding, then Zion is the city of the chosen people - i.e. the Jews. Therefore, it naturally discriminates against other races (non-Jews), which I supose could be classed as racism in its purest terms. However, the term has obviously acquired unpleasent overtones, which makes it seem a little unfair to tar the two terms with the same brush.
