the problem is Punctuation—Colon

It should be a semi colon instead. (;)

the sentence shud be as following
studying is exciting-----find something about the subject that interests you (no comma) and resolve it to become an expert.

Remove the colon altogether and put a period in its place. That is just two sentences and they do not have to be and should not be put together with a colon.
