Ovulation occurs deep inside your body and will not be affected by a shower or anything external. Your body will release an egg, and it will stick around for between 12 and 24 hours waiting to be fertilized.

If you had unprotected sex a day or two before you ovulated, there may be sperm still there to fertilize the egg. This means that there are probably close to 5 days you can get pregnant during a cycle (this varies from woman to woman).

Taking a shower isn't going to have an effect. The length of time varies from woman to woman but I think it's more like a day or two instead of a few hours.

Ovulation is a natural part of your monthly cycle. Your window of getting pregnant is about 3 days since sperm can survive before and after your ovulation. The only way to prevent the release of your monthly egg is with birth control.
