From a technical point of view hardware is anything that forms up the computer this includes:
1- Motherboard
2- Processors
3- RAMs
4- various Cards (graphics card, sound card, network card)
5- Storage devices (Hard disks, floppy disks, CD/DVD Drives)
6- Storage media (CDs, DVDs...etc)
7- Input devices (keyboards, mouse)
8- Display Devices (monitors, Projectors)

So in general you can say that hardware is any device that you use or connect to your PC.

On the other hand Software are mainly programs that either control the hardware or enable you to perform a specific task or job.
this includes
1- BIOS (Installed on motherboard)
2- Operating System (Windows, Apple Mac, Linux...etc)
3- Applications (Word, Excel, AutoCAD and millions more)
4- Drivers (programs that enable you to control devices or hardware)

So software is something that you can't really see or touch yet it is found and constitutes a part of a PC
Hope that helps

Hardware is the machine, software is the machine language that runs the machine (i.e. code). Software is effectively the interface that allows a user (You or I), to enter our ideas into the computer in an orderly logical manner to us, and converts it into low level machine code which is orderly and logical to the computers central processing unit (and represented by 1's and 0's), as well as memory (RAM and ROM).
