I have a linux box and I use SendMail. Sendmail is great and its free, but its only for linux. For Windows, I'd suggest using ArGoSoft Mail Server. It's free and its for Windows and comes with a nice built-in Web interface to administering it:

Good luck dude...If you need anymore help, let me know

By the way, other people,: I don't think the man who posted the question is looking for email clients...I think he's looking for an email server...so everyone stop saying 'yahoo', 'gmail' and 'hotmail'. You are all wrong..lol..or else I am..lol

Gmail, definitely. All the other email services have simply tried to copy them, and keep up. But from day one, Gmail has had the best offering, and continues to improve.

I have a gmail account, but I rarely use it. I have it set up with POP3 to forward to my Thunderbird e-mail client.
