Reboot it. There are directions how to do this on www.apple.com discussion boards.
Take it to an Apple store and have them look at it for free. By the serial number they will be able to tell if it is under warranty or not.
I've taken mine in three times, they have looked at it, and given me a new one, no questions asked.

I dont have one but I guess it has a 1 year warranty like most other electronics. yahoo! answer 'How long is the ipod videos warranty?'

When did u buy the ipod?
You'll have to call aplle and find out whe the warranty was up!
Where did u buy it from?
Go back to that store and ask if they have a warrenty plan and not them you'll have to buy a new one

surely you have a receipt to check when you bought it , you have a 1 year warranty with an ipod, check online for possible causes and solutions at apple.com maybe oyu need to charge it?
