since it was your first time, your skin in between those two toes is very sensetive. Try flip-flips with cloth straps to begin with. They will be so comfortable and they will not give you blisters, but your skin will get tougher. I wear flip-flips every day and haven't had blisters there for over a year. Good luck!

I can NOT wear them. THe thing between my toes drives me NUTS. Some people have slightly webbed toes - my grandfather had REALLY webbed toes - this is not uncommon and it makes it impossible to wear flip-flops. Stick with the ones that go over the bridge of your foot, or strappy sandals (I like the ones that lace up your calves.) You can get them at Walmart for $14.97 - they're called Espadrilles.

I think it all depends on the quality of the flip flop. My favorite brand of flip flops are Toegoz. They are made of fabric between the toes and sturdy soles. They aren't cheap, but they come in the cutest designs and they have matching belts and tote bags to wear with the flip flops.
You can order them online at:

I hate them myself wore them as a kid, yes thong flip-flops have been around for years. Found that they were uncomfortable for me to wear. So I just wear sandals now in the summer time.

it takes a while to get used to wearing flip-flops, but they r really comfy once u get used 2 them. try wearing them every other day 4 about 2 weeks, so ur feet can have a chance 2 get used 2 wearing them. also, i wouldn't suggest getting plastic ones. try cloth flip-flops or some other material.

it takes a little getting used to. but maybe your condition was brought about by an allergic reaction to the material of the flip-flops, which is usually rubber. in that case it could be contact dermatitis.
go see your doctor about how you can deal with that so you can enjoy ur thongs like the rest of us. :)

Maybe you bought a cheap pair. I suggest a pair of skecher ones with the nylon thong, not plastic. They are very comfortable.

I love my "Something Else" thongs by Sketchers. I haven't had any sore from them but other brands you have to break in your foot and build up calluses to wear them. Some are comfortable, others are definitely not!
