It could be Brazil and Germany in the finals again. This world cup is held in Germany, and for sure Germany must win this time.

I'd say that either brazil, argentina, or ecuador looks strongest right about now. And don't forget, Ecuador beat both Brazil and Argentina in qualifying matches! So, I'd give the early edge to this order of countries: Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina. The only reason I have Brazil over Argentina, is because Ronaldo finally got involved with 2 goals yesterday.

So far, I think one of the best teams would HAVE to be Brazil. In watching their game yesterday afternoon against Japan, I think that they have a very good chance of winning this. The whole team moved together wonderfully, each move fluent...very natural. Another team that will be interesting to watch would be Ghana. They snuck up from behind, taking people by suprise, I think.
Hope this answers your question.

Currently, it goes:
1. Argentina [six-nil dude]
2. Brazil [they're back, woohoo]
3. Germany [need to lift their game]
4. Italy [a Rugby field is what they need]
I favor Brazil though! Gooooo Ronaldinhooooooooooo :-D

Germany are playing well and Klose is classy; they also have home advantage, which is a massive help so are in with a big shout of winning. Italy, so/so performance to date, but their team is aging and I cannot see them winning. Spain - playing well, but always seems to let themselves down so am ruling them out as winners. France - aging stars and Henry bottles it in big games, so cannot see them winning, but think they will scrape through into the last 16. Switzerland could be the surprise team. Ukraine not shown enough to be contenders. Sweden are likely to fall against Germany. England's chances all depend on how brave Sven is in making some changes to the team he puts out, but I think we shall see off Ecuador; as Sven seems to have little faith in his fringe players I cannot see us winning the cup, but live in hope. Holland have a great chance if they can get going; it may benefit them to have started a little sluggishly. Portugal, I think will loose to Holland. Argentina have played very well in a tough group, but may have peaked a little early, but also have planty of talent on the subs bench to call on - possible winners. Brasil started slowly until last night, but I personally rate Japan as the weakest team in their group, so not sure if they will perform so well against tougher opposition - not their year I think. Equador, did beat Brasil and Argentina in qualifying but at high altitude, and their two group wins were over fairly ordinary opposition - depends on what England team turns up to play them, but cannot see them advancing any further. Mexico were a bit lucky to get through to the last 16 and cannot see them progressing any further. (Also remember that Latin American teams have only ever won the cup once between them on European soil so history is against them). I am pleased that Ghana have done well but I cannot see them beating Brasil. Australia have a chance of beating Italy, but cannot see them getting past the quarter finals.
Last group to be decided but think Switzerland will top it and France to scrape through.
My guess for the semi finals is Holland v Brasil, and Germany v a surprise Swizerland.
Final - Holland v Germany
Winner - Holland.
There you go have put my head well and truly on the chopping block - no doubt I shall be completely wrong!!!!!!
PS - looks like Sven might actually make changes so England now have a chance too - so for me the winner of England v Holland quater final will win the cup.
Stuck my head on the chopping block again.

I'm thinking Italy is doing well. Although they are a bunch of whiners i think. But they seem to be pretty strong.

At this level you can't count on performances only, as the teams are very equal, but with the factor LUCK too.
That's why PORTUGAL will win!...............
