Unfortunately it is not uncommon for 13 and 14 year old girls to be sexually active. Too many young people believe that they are mature enough for sex at that age and they are not. The best thing is for both boys and girls to wait until they are adults and married before engaging in sex. They need to be taught how precious it is to be a virgin on their wedding night. That God gave us sex to be an intimate expression of love between a husband and wife, not something to do for recreation outside of marriage.

I know of a girl starting when she was 11. (I think that's a little young...) < And she got pregnant 2 times before she was 16. She had miscarriages both times, lucky for her.
But it happens. It's not uncommon to find 13 year old girls who have had sex. However I think the majority of girls wait until they're 15, 16 or 17.

I was 17 but I think I was a late bloomer. I wish I would have waited. That was a long time ago but I was not mature enough mentally to deal with all the issues and responsibilities that go along with it. If you are not ready or you are having doubts- wait- there is not set age limit. Each person in different but I think you should be old enough to handle the responsibilty that comes along with it. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. Don't fall into pressure.

I started at 19...and married that same man, and still married to him 8 years later. But, not all girls/women do that, unfortunately. They are starting much younger...too young, in my opinion. Which why ther are 13 and 14 y/o girls having babies!

Everyone is different. Please, please wait until you have found someone that you love and are truely in love with. Some people don't feel that you need to wait, but I beleive that this is something that you should do with the person you love and want to spend the rest of your life with. Don't try to be someone who trys to create a list of who've they've been with. I think those girls have no self respect. Wait until you have found the right person and talk about it with him. Remember, if you are too embarassed to talk about it, you aren't ready to do it.
