My knowledge of Singapore is little ... I recognize that Singapore is the "Financial Capital" of the world today. However, I do not know of Singapore's economics-politics-culture. I do remember an incident a long time ago about a kid getting "Caned" (beat with a piece of sugar cane) because the kid spray painted something ... but that's all I remember.

Singapore economics is only for some and the politics is equally discriminating.Even though Singapore is prosperous by Asian standards,I would not want to live there.Like many Southeast Asian countries, the laws and administration are far too dictatorial for my taste.Singapore profits at the expense of all its neighbours and should lighten up a bit.But the same thing could be said about a lot of countries elsewhere too.Its not the best place to go,but you could pick a lot worse.

Economy? It may looks good. But been small have their own disadvantage, especially we need to trade with all other nations around.

If any nations near by don't do well, we suffered. If Europe of US not stable, we suffered too. If China and Japan economy slide downwards, we too suffered.

We depend too much on others, no choice, as we are far too small. Our island is only about 40 km by 20 km, having about 4 million people. Unlike Hongkong, they have a big brother behind to support, to cushion their fall.

Law? It is base on British Common Law. Rather strict, but it is doing the country fine. We are known for no nonsense.

You try dealing with drugs, you die. Try kidnap? You die. Any law breaker should fear the law of Singapore. But for the others, it is a safe place to roam around, even for gals right into the night. No one will bother you.
