Lord, this guy is fun to read, LOL.
That should be the answer to everything - nuke whomever we think is making us mad at the time. Kill everyone that stands in our way! A few people have done that over time - and none are being talked about as real good guys. Stalin, Hitler, you get the idea.
The situation in Iraq is NOTHING like WW2, so there is ZERO connection between the two. There is a time to make that decision, but it is certainly not over a small scale war that we brought to a head.
People get all worked up if some terrorists say they are going to kill Americans (and they should), so why would you think that they wouldn't get upset when we go on TV saying we are going to kill them? The answer is not blowing someone up (sounds a lot to me like that answer was used against us - and we thought they were insane a few years back), the answer is to get something done. Take the time to figure it out, and not just let the news tell you what to think.

By dropping the bomb on a civilian population, Truman set himself up as a major genocidal maniac. He could have dropped it elsewhere as a show of what's next, somewhere less populated or even unpopulated. What's more, he didn't stop at one, he had to drop two. He opened the genie of nuclear destruction and now nuclear weapons are proliferating. America lived by the sword and now is paranoid that someone will use that weapon on the US. Yes, it ended a war, but it could have been as successful without so much death and destruction. Too late for that now, though.
Is it OK to use in Iraq? Why on earth do you want to drop a bomb on these poor people who are already suffering such destruction? Are you going to move all American forces out of the way and then bomb who? Everyone? Anyone?
Did you perhaps mean Iran? With the same questions. The US has tens of thousands of nuclear weapons and it is afraid of one such weapon? Is that paranoia or what? You think Iran is going to risk self-destruction by using its one or two weapons first? Clearly they just want a deterrent--you bomb us and we'll bomb you back; you may destroy us, but we'll at least maim you.

I think that the A-bomb should not be used in Iraq under ANY circumstances. I follow this up by saying I'm not sure it should have been used at all. The idea of killing people who may never have had anything to do with the war is abhorrent to me. Reminds me of Vietnam...
Sometimes politicians get carried away in the heat of the moment. Mistakes are made. Bombs are dropped. I'm not saying we should just say "oops" and get on with it. I'm saying that we should learn from those mistakes and not make them again. Dropping another A-bomb would be revisiting a mistake I had thought the whole world learned from.

It did end a bitter, dangerous war! Although, as a liberal, I think it was the most hideous thing ever done to mankind!
I am however, still wondering how all the cons. in this country are OK with the fact that Bush killed 3000 of his own people on 9/11, then lied to go to war? Or is it that cons. are to afraid to actually find out that their beloved Texas big oil tycoon, and his band of thugs, would actually do something like that.
Lets all save face and ignore the harsh realities, shall we.....

Dude this is the second of your questions I've looked at this morning and you have a serious problem. You need to do something about your anger and realise that being an idiot does not delude anyone based upon the wording of your question. No one is deluded into thinking that you are actually liberal. I understand your method, it's called reducion ad absurdum.
Also, I am fiercely against the nuclear bomb, which brought unprecedented fear to our planet.

I don't know... I'd rather try to settle things without violence... So I guess I am a peace-loving pacifist liberal... I wouldn't say we are friends... is there a problem with not wanting bloodshed? I can't really tell what side you are on here...

Face it, the Japs had it coming.
This reminds me of an old question on here, "When did the Democrats lose their spine?"
Now that I think about it, it must have been some time after August, 1945.
