I am wearing odd socks now but it doesn't matter because I have an identical pair in my draw.

The same place socks go when you have them in a dryer. At high temperatures and fast circulating revolutions, it has been known to open an inter-dimensional doorway (that's why when you put an even number of socks in the dryer a lot of time you are missing one). After the socks live there for so long they finally find their way back here, and thus the sudden accumulation of old socks.

The sock monster that lives in the washing machine (has also been spotted in the laundry basket) only eats left socks so that is why we end up with odd socks.

They become odd socks when their partners escape the house through the dryer vent. The escapees seldom get far though, leaving the odd ones widows. You've seen them, lying on the side of the highway, right? If not, pay attention, they are all out there on the side of the road. They evidently don't fare well in traffic.

The odd sock fairy, she is silly, she hides in peoples washing machines, steals odd socks and then puts them elsewhere when she's finished with them, her name's Jollipa-Greywings

Static cling, I have found socks in my sheets , clothes , the dryer's drum, under the washer, attached to a broom, and I even saw my husband walk out the door with one attached to his back. Sad part is,by the time you match them all up, the other one of the pair has gone MIA too.
