What should Americans do about the growing rate of overweight people in this country, especially the kids?

It's the parents. Companys can pull out all the healthy food they want, But if the parents continue to feed thier kids chips soda and other junk food, then there's nothing we can do, other then watch them on the Maury show and feel bad for the kids.

Obvious really, the simple answer is the right one, eat less junk food, and exercise more. I never eat all these McDonald's and Pizzas and fast food etc. And I am the right weight and have never been overweight. I also cycle often.

The single, most damaging item in the American diet is high fructose corn syrup. Ever since this product was introduced into the food stream, obesity and ADD/ADHD have increased to pandemic levels.

Americ is making things bigger like caskets, buses , Benches Etc. What we should be doing is start making these things smaller which will force overweight people to lose weight.

They could start a healthy lifestyle campaign whereby kids can do sports, exercise more, eat more veggies and lessen the carbohydrates and fats. I suggest they should be trained since young.

More education on proper nutrition...make it free too and available for anyone who wants to learn. Limit fast food adverstising and promote more advertising of healthy foods. Make the cost of healthy foods lower!

kids need to be more active and eat more balanced meals too.
kids don't get out as much as they use to, and families don't sit down to diner as often either.
even in school, kids don't have recess like b4 and gym class isn't taken with enough credits

Have a big mac w/fries and take your colesterol meds. What else, they are already trying education, we could make junk food illegal?? Just kidding, imagine the black market in junk food..

All the healthy people will move to canada and the fat people will be forced to work until they are at least 150 pounds...

Cut out the greasy, sugary food, exercise more and stop snacking between meals.
