Why is it that every overweight person I see, seems to be mad at the world? They are very short tempered and hardly ever smile...I see them being rude to people such as clerks at stores, other customers, their own kids. Why is this?

Don't get me wrong, I see some rude thin people too...especially when the vacationers are here. But far fewer thin than overweight!

Those people probably have been laughed at and made fun of by so many skinny people, that they take it out on everyone. It is sad that they can't all be jolly, like Santa Claus. But, often being heavy is a miserable thing to be. Not just because everyone thinks it's because you over-eat, are lazy or disgusting, but also because of the many types of physical ailments. That can make anyone grouchy like a wounded animal.

I know people of all sizes who are grouchy and rude, but also who are happy and kind. It is sad when we generalize about people's personalities based on physical appearance, including a person's race. What you have done in your question is called discrimination. Perhaps if you smiled at them, they would smile back-you just might make their day!

Well I don't believe it has to do with weight because I am overweight and I am only grouchy when I get mad and happy other times so I don't think it has to do with overweight and underweight

You must understand firstly, of what happened to them that made them overweight. They could be due to having low-self esteem and may seemed like the whole world is out to give them madness. They also probably become over-weight due to stressness, black histories and ugly pasts.

I use to work at a gas station and I never had much problems with fat people. It was usualy middle aged and old people who seemed miserable. There were some fat people that come to my mind though that were pretty rude and miserable.

Um, I was grouchy BEFORE I got fat. I don't think your theory washes, as I know a lot of happy fat people. Maybe you just live in a dismal area where life sucks.

My disposition has improved since I've lost weight; I think it's mostly because I feel better physically. (Indigestion is nothing to smile about, believe me.)

God knows thin people are the soul of sweetness and charm. Most of us that eat what we want when we want are happy.
