Unfortunately, we cannot afford $10,000 - 15,000 that it cost to adopt a child.
We have looked into foster care, but there is always the chance that the child will be given back to the birth parent (sometimes that's good sometimes it puts the child right back in harms way) and we cannot accept the heartbreak which come with that entire scenario.
Do you know (or have you heard of) an affordable adoption program out there?
Any advice or direction you could give is greatly appreciated.
Thank-you.

Look into adoption with your state. My mother in law does adoptions with the State of Oregon and the state picks up the tab.

There are always women and girls getting pregnant and not wanting to keep the baby. I have a friend who knew a girl in that situation and she and her husband paid the bill for the prenatal and birth. Then, when the baby was born, they took the baby. Any adoption can be revoked. You might just have to try it if you really want a baby. You might consider setting it up so that they birth mother can see the baby if she wants. I think that would be best set up through a local organization.

Good luck.

State adoptions of children that are full wards of the court are always availble. You won't get a "baby" but you might get an instant family if you are willing to adopt siblings. It's called the MARE program in Michigan.

Children are really expensive. Are you sure you want to have one? If so then consider adopting from Mexico or South America. You could be the answer to a prayer and save a poor kids life.

I would see how much it cost and someone willing to be a surragate mother...where your wife's egg and your sperm are inseminated into a willing womens uterus...and sometimes you can adopt out of country and its cheeper than it is in the US

Get your IVF-invitro fertilisation treatment in India .IVF treatment ,IUI,ICSI and Laparoscopic/tube ligation reversal surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges all types of medical treatment andsurgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as some of the surgery including ivf treatment is not covered by insurance.

They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your IVF treatment can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The doctors are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.I recently also read about a chinese couple facilitated by forerunners healthcare were able to get their baby by IVF and a surrogate mother.
