I would choose to quit the job if I loved the guy, but if it's a casual thing then the job is for the keeps. It depends on the relationship and how committed both parties are to each other.

Ok...what's missing from this equation? You didn't say why you are in the dilema. If like a million and a half fellas across the U.S.A. you have gone and fallen for a girl where you work then you've got trouble. So now we need to do the definition game. Lets define our players. Job. How long have you been there and how much do you want to stay there, how much room for advancement and future improvement of your lifestyle can be associated with this job.
What are you calling a girlfriend. Pardon me if I get a little clinical here. How old are you and madame? How long have you been in this "relationship". Are you engaged to be married, or have you been dating for less than six months. WHY THE HECK DID YOU HAVE TO ASK **THIS** QUESION? Better yet why am I trying to answer it?
Ok look....this is going to come down to this: YOU already know which it is. You knew when you posed the question and I can show you why. Go get a coin. I'll wait here just go get a coin. I prefer a quarter don't you? I think when it's time to flip a coin on a particualr matter that a quarter is the coin of choice....pennies, nickels and dimes are too small and they seem like we are making the issue less important, the coin dollar is nice but it is not often easy to come by....ok you got your coin? Now pay attention because this will help you in deciding things for the rest of your life.
Assign an answer to each side of the coin. (heads you quit the job....tails you quit the girlfriend) Now flip the coin and catch it and lay it on the back of your hand with the other hand covering it like we all do .......now look at the coin..WAIT!!!!! DON"T LOOK YET!!!! ask your self this: Which side do you hope it is?
There is your answer. You didn't need me or a coin. What you wanted is what everyone wants....to talk to someone, to feel for a moment like you are not alone with your problem...it's good to let the idea rattle back and forth between each other and to know.....you will be all right no matter which you choose. You have a lot of friends here at Questions are us or what ever we call this place. We are here for you. Come back anytime. Some have goofy one word answers and some like me write a book. Either way you will get some good fellowship with the "gang" here and it will make choosing easier. Good luck
Doc.

well if your forced to quit your job then you have no money coming in. If your girlfriend is giving you one to pick..i would pick the girlfriend cause you need a job to make money to live. You can't live on love with out money to live on..

Unless you sh*t money, quitting your job isn't possible.
Why would you be forced to quit your job? Is this HER forcing or because of circumstances (re-location, hours/time, etc.)? If she is forcing you to quit your job, I say you quit her.
But if you're contemplating quitting your job to be with her, your own choice, than do what you feel is right.

i don't have a girlfriend...but if it came between my job or my boyfriend i would consider this...if my boyfriend is going to pay for my everything w/o complaining (seeing as how i quit for him) then i would...but if not..keep the job---or if the job is very prestigious and hard to get and you have it...you should keep it...you can always find another girl

My job. Unless the one asking me to quit my job is willing to support me and pay for everything and sign everything they own over to me. Then I'd want that in contract signed with their blood.
